After more than 15 years working in dynamic and fast-paced IT roles, I’ve taken some time to reflect and highlight just a few of the many projects I’ve led or been part of over the years.
Over two decades, I’ve led and executed multiple desktop upgrade cycles across enterprise environments, migrating users from Windows 2000 through to Windows 11. This has included planning hardware compatibility, software testing, driver packaging, and managing deployment strategies—ranging from manual upgrades to automated rollouts using tools like MDT and SCCM. Each transition required minimizing downtime, ensuring data continuity, and training end users, while maintaining security and compliance throughout.
I’ve managed the full lifecycle of Windows Server platforms from 2003 through to the latest 2025 edition, overseeing migrations, domain upgrades, and infrastructure modernization projects. This includes transitioning from legacy Active Directory and Group Policy structures to hybrid cloud environments, implementing Hyper-V and later Azure integrations, and ensuring service continuity during critical system upgrades. Emphasis was placed on security hardening, patch management, and optimizing server roles such as DNS, DHCP, file/print services, and remote access.
Led the end-to-end migration of 50 on-premise servers to Microsoft Azure, covering application, file, and database workloads. This project involved detailed discovery and assessment, re-architecting for cloud efficiency, and executing a phased migration plan using tools such as Azure Migrate and ASR (Azure Site Recovery). Ensured business continuity through rigorous testing, minimal downtime cutovers, and post-migration optimization. Delivered improved scalability, resilience, and cost predictability for the organization’s infrastructure.
Successfully migrated a multinational Avaya phone system (UK, USA, Spain, Germany) to Microsoft Teams Phone, consolidating legacy infrastructure into a modern, cloud-based communication platform. Led the planning and rollout, including number porting, Direct Routing setup, and user adoption strategies. Worked closely with regional teams to ensure regulatory compliance, quality of service, and minimal disruption. Resulted in unified communications across time zones, simplified management, and reduced telephony costs.
Managed the evolution of a Citrix environment from XenApp 6 through to modern-day Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. Oversaw infrastructure upgrades, image management, profile optimization (including FSLogix), and load balancing across multi-site deployments. Delivered secure, high-availability remote access for global users, integrating with Active Directory, MFA, and various back-end applications. Ensured consistent performance and reliability through proactive monitoring, patching, and capacity planning.
Led the global migration from Microsoft Dynamics to Salesforce across six regions: UK, Italy, USA, Spain, Germany, and France. Managed stakeholder alignment, data mapping and cleansing, custom object and workflow development, and API integrations with ERP and marketing platforms. Ensured GDPR compliance, multi-language support, and tailored user training for regional teams. The migration delivered improved user experience, streamlined sales processes, and enhanced reporting and analytics across the organization.
Delivered a successful migration from legacy HR and payroll systems to a modern HRIS platform, streamlining operations across the UK and USA. Led requirements gathering, data cleansing, and secure migration of employee records, pay history, and compliance data. Configured modules for core HR, payroll, benefits, and self-service, with tailored workflows to meet regional regulatory needs. Improved accuracy, reporting, and employee experience while reducing administrative overhead.
Manage end-to-end IT support for a group of six companies operating across multiple countries, ensuring consistent service delivery in a complex global structure. Oversee helpdesk operations, infrastructure, user provisioning, and application support, adapting to varying local requirements and time zones. Standardized tools and processes across entities to improve efficiency, security, and visibility. Act as the escalation point for critical incidents, while coordinating with external vendors and internal stakeholders to maintain high service levels.
Led the migration of legacy Crystal Reports to Power BI, transforming static reports into interactive, self-service dashboards. Worked closely with stakeholders to redesign KPIs, streamline data sources, and implement secure data models using Power BI Desktop and the Power BI Service. Automated refresh schedules, and optimized performance across large datasets. Resulted in faster insights, improved decision-making, and reduced dependency on static report generation.
Designed and implemented a centralised data warehouse integrating data from three ERP systems, multiple CRMs, production systems, and SharePoint. Led data modelling, ETL pipeline development, and schema unification to support accurate cross-functional reporting and analytics. Used tools such as SQL Server, ADF, Synapse, Fabric and Power BI to ensure reliable data ingestion, transformation, and visualization. Enabled a single source of truth for finance, operations, and executive teams, dramatically improving reporting speed and data-driven decision-making.
Delivered a full rollout of SharePoint and OneDrive, replacing legacy on-prem file servers to modernize document management across the organization. Led the migration of structured and unstructured data, implementing governance, access controls, and retention policies. Deployed team sites and communication hubs, along with SharePoint Lists to digitize manual tracking processes. Provided user training and change management to drive adoption, resulting in improved collaboration, version control, and remote access capabilities.
Rolled out Microsoft Intune and PowerApps to support and empower frontline workers in a manufacturing environment. Used Intune to securely manage Android devices, enforce compliance policies, and deploy critical apps over-the-air. Developed custom PowerApps to digitize paper-based workflows, including maintenance logging, incident reporting, and stock tracking. Enhanced productivity, data accuracy, and real-time visibility while ensuring security and device health across the shop floor.
Directed a two-year digital transformation strategy focused on reducing paper usage and modernising business processes. Led cross-departmental initiatives to implement digital workflows, e-signatures, and cloud-based collaboration tools, resulting in a reduction of printed paper from 43,000 to 11,000 sheets annually. Championed cultural change, promoted sustainability, and aligned IT goals with wider business objectives—delivering measurable cost savings, increased efficiency, and environmental impact reduction
Introduced and implemented a unified spend management system across five separate legal entities, streamlining procurement, expense reporting, and approval workflows. Aligned configurations with each company’s financial structure while maintaining centralized oversight and reporting. Integrated the platform with ERP systems and enforced policy controls to improve compliance, visibility, and budget management. Delivered greater financial control, reduced manual credit card receipt processing, and improved audit readiness across the group.
Delivered a suite of digital solutions to enhance operational efficiency in manufacturing. Deployed a box label printing system integrated with production data to streamline packaging and reduce errors. Implemented a mold machine monitoring and planning tool, providing real-time visibility into machine status, downtime, and capacity planning. Additionally, developed an automated delayed order tracker to proactively flag and escalate risks to on-time delivery. These initiatives improved traceability, reduced manual effort, and increased production oversight.
Managed and supported SYSPRO and Sage ERP systems across their full lifecycle, including major version upgrades, database migrations, and environment re-architecting. Worked closely with finance, operations, and IT teams to ensure minimal disruption during rollouts, while optimizing system performance and usability. Oversaw vendor coordination, UAT planning, and data integrity checks throughout each project. Enabled smoother financial processes, better reporting, and enhanced system reliability for day-to-day operations.
Led annual IT budgeting processes, aligning spend with strategic priorities across infrastructure, software, and support. Managed full hardware lifecycle—from procurement and deployment to decommissioning—ensuring performance, security, and value-for-money. Established refresh cycles, asset tracking, and vendor management practices to reduce downtime and optimize capital expenditure. Delivered cost predictability, improved forecasting, and sustained technology alignment with business needs and budget rationalisation.
Managed e-marketing platforms including Spotler and Mailchimp, driving targeted campaigns and lead nurturing initiatives. Integrated both systems with Salesforce to enable seamless data flow, campaign tracking, and contact segmentation. Developed automated email workflows, monitored engagement metrics, and supported GDPR-compliant list management. These efforts improved marketing ROI, strengthened sales alignment, and enhanced visibility into campaign performance across regions.
Led the successful implementation and ongoing compliance of Cyber Essentials, strengthening the organization’s cybersecurity posture. Conducted risk assessments, enforced secure configuration baselines, and implemented controls across firewalls, user access, patch management, and malware protection. Coordinated with stakeholders to align policies, complete audits, and ensure continuous adherence to the standard. Achieved certification while fostering a culture of security awareness and resilience.
Led the consolidation and upgrade of firewalls across 14 global sites to a unified WatchGuard solution. Standardized network security policies, improved visibility, and centralized management through WatchGuard Cloud. Implemented site-to-site VPNs, intrusion prevention, and advanced threat protection to enhance perimeter security. Reduced complexity, streamlined support, and strengthened the organization’s overall security posture while ensuring minimal disruption during deployment.
